Abstract

The bilateral relationship between Indonesia and Saudi Arabia has been closely intertwined for many years, particularly in the field of labor cooperation. This study aims to analyze the role of Indonesian Migrant Workers (TKI) in the Indonesia-Saudi Arabia bilateral relationship and its impact on the diplomacy of both countries. The research uses a descriptive analysis method based on historical research, involving five main stages: topic selection, source collection, verification, interpretation, and historical writing. The findings indicate that TKIs play a crucial role in strengthening the economic and social aspects of the relationship between Indonesia and Saudi Arabia. However, they also face various issues such as exploitation, inadequate wages, and cases of harassment or violence. This research is expected to provide a deeper understanding of the dynamics of the Indonesia-Saudi Arabia bilateral relationship and emphasize the need for protection and improvement of working conditions for TKIs. Better protection and improved working conditions are expected to increase the benefits for TKIs and both countries as a whole. Thus, this study can also provide a basis for the development of more effective policies in managing migrant labor and strengthening diplomacy between the two countries.
